BIOLOGY (Mr. Murdock)  I am currently attending San Jose State to finish my masters degree in biology.  I  have taught high school biology for five years, at the honors or AP level.  I am very familiar with the books and the labs and the assignments of Cupertino and Saratoga schools; I know what areas are difficult, and how to explain them easily. 

I can relate chemistry, biology, and physics, to make the complexity of life understandable...and fun!

CHEMISTRY (Mr. Murdock)  I was a chemistry major in my first undergraduate degree (Santa Clara University).  I have taught chemistry and chemistry AP and chemistry AP test preparation and chemistry AP preview over the summers for 5 years.  I am very familiar with the books and labs and extra projects in the Cupertino and Saratoga districts.  I know what areas are difficult, and how to explain them clearly. 

Teachers here often go beyond the book...I know what these "extra" areas are, and how to prepare for them.  But, I do more than just present the answers;  I help students to understand WHY something happens, and to apply chemical principles to new situations.
